GIS Up To 66 kV

GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) up to 66 kV is a compact, enclosed switchgear system that uses sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) gas to insulate high-voltage components. Designed for medium-voltage power systems, it offers enhanced safety, reliability, and space efficiency compared to traditional air-insulated switchgear. GIS up to 66 kV is ideal for urban substations, industrial facilities, and renewable energy applications where space is limited. It minimizes the risk of electrical faults and requires less maintenance due to sealed components. With superior performance in harsh environments, GIS ensures stable power distribution, reduced operational downtime, and long service life in medium-voltage networks.

AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear) up to 40.5 kV is a widely used type of medium-voltage switchgear where air serves as the primary insulating medium. Commonly installed in outdoor and indoor substations, AIS is known for its simple design, cost-effectiveness, and ease of maintenance. It provides safe and reliable switching, control, and protection of electrical equipment in distribution networks, industrial plants, and utility grids. Though it requires more space compared to GIS, AIS offers flexibility in configuration and easier fault detection. Suitable for environments with less space constraint, AIS up to 40.5 kV supports robust and long-lasting electrical infrastructure solutions.

CG started manufacturing of Vacuum Interrupters at Aurangabad, India in 1985-86 in technical collaboration with the then Westinghouse Electric, USA, to became the pioneers in vacuum technology in India. After completion of collaboration period, CG extended the product range up to 72.5kV with continuous design upgradation with our in-house Research and Development to offer Vacuum Interrupters for various applications. In 2014-2015, we increased the manufacturing capacity to over 1,50,000 Numbers of Vacuum Interrupters per year to become the largest Vacuum Interrupter manufacturer in India.

Arista S is Ring Main Unit (RMU) for smart distribution application. The RMU is characterised by its high level of operational Safety and Suitable for Indoor, Outdoor applications up to 36kV.

As the world is moving towards highly compact and reliable power distribution equipment, GIS is emerging as the best solution for MV Primary Power Distribution. ARISTA GIS offers the latest technology with only incremental cost over Air Insulated Switchgear. ARISTA comes with flexible SF6 gas insulated plug-in compartments to suit various network configurations.
